Leverage Ratio

A leverage ratio measures a borrower’s debt relative to its earnings, most commonly total debt divided by EBITDA. In commercial or corporate loans, a maximum leverage ratio is a common financial covenant: if the ratio rises above the limit, the borrower may be in default. LoanStreet CLS tracks leverage ratio covenants alongside other financial covenant tests in its loan covenant monitoring software.
