Accounts Payable

Accounts payable is money a business owes to its suppliers, recorded as a liability on the company’s balance sheet. It differs from notes payable, which are debts created by formal legal instruments such as promissory notes. Lenders review accounts payable when analyzing a commercial borrower’s working capital.
