Interest Coverage Ratio

The interest coverage ratio measures a borrower’s ability to pay interest on its debt, usually calculated as EBITDA or EBIT divided by interest expense. Lenders often set a minimum interest coverage ratio as a financial covenant in commercial or corporate loans. LoanStreet CLS monitors interest coverage ratio covenants as part of its commercial loan covenant management.
