National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is the independent federal agency that regulates federal credit unions and insures credit union deposits. It is one of two U.S. deposit insurers, alongside the FDIC, which insures banks and savings institutions. NCUA rules, including Regulation 701.22, govern how credit unions buy and sell loan participations.
